Vincent Lecavalier nets his first career hat trick and Fredrik Modin notches the other Tampa Bay goal. Alexei Kovalev's and Mario Lemieux's 11 game point-scoring streaks end.

There was no scoring in the first period with the big story being that referees O'Halloran and Stewart called five penalties in the period after the two had only called two penalties in the entire overtime game on Wednesday.

Alexandre Daigle got the lone Pittsburgh goal at 5:23 of the second period. Daigle came in on a 3-on-2 with Jan Hrdina and Martin Straka. Daigle took a Straka pass, skated down the right wing and snapped the puck by TB goalie, Nikolai Khabibulin, far-side from the right circle.

Tampa Bay tied the game at one with a Vincent Lecavalier power play goal at 18:40. Lecavalier took a short pass from Vaclav Prospal and beat Johan Hedberg high far-side from out front.

Vincent Lecavalier got the game-winner at 4:25 of the third period. Lecavalier hustled down the right-side of the ice, took a nice pass from Prospal, backhanded it off the far post and in from the bottom of the right circle.
