Pens down Flyers 2-1 (12-Jan-2004)
The Penguins defeat the Atlantic Division-leading Flyers 2-1 due largely to the excellent play of goaltender Jean-Sebastien Aubin. Dick Tarnstrom opened the scoring with a power play goal at 16:12 of the first period. Tarnstrom scored with a wrister at the top of the left circle which beat a screened Robert Esche. Tom Kostopoulos got the eventual game-winner with a power play goal at 12:32 of the second. Kostopoulos picked up a rebound of a Rico Fata shot and cooly shot the puck topshelf. Mike Comrie broke Jean-Sebastien Aubin's shutout bid with a deflection of a Chris Therrien point shot at 4:35 of the third.
