Penguins beat Isles on Gonchar OT goal (20-Oct-2006)
The Penguins defeat the Islanders 4-3 with a Sergei Gonchar power play goal in overtime in front of an announced crowd of 10,258 at Nassau Coliseum. Pittsburgh led 2-0 early in the second period after Michel Ouellet and Nils Ekman power play goals but New York responded with three goals in under three minutes near the end of the second. Evgeni Malkin tied the game with his second goal in as many games before Gonchar netted the game-winner at 3:33 of overtime.
