Pens beat Caps 6-3 (11-Feb-2006)
The Penguins score four goals in the second period on their way to a 6-3 victory over the Washington Capitals in front of 18,277 at MCI Center. Sidney Crosby, John LeClair, Sergei Gonchar, Colby Armstrong, Mark Recchi and Eric Boguniecki scored for Pittsburgh. The win gives the Pens their first regulation two game winning streak.

Pens defeat Hurricanes 4-3 (10-Feb-2006)
The Penguins break their seven game losing streak with an entertaining 4-3 victory over Carolina in front of 18,830 at RBC Center. Pittsburgh got goals from Eric Boguniecki, Mark Recchi, John LeClair, and Sidney Crosby. Sebastien Caron earned the victory in goal and was named the game's second star.

Christensen recalled from WBS (9-Feb-2006)
The Penguins have recalled Erik Christensen from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Christensen, 22, has appeared in 29 games this season with Pittsburgh, recording 12 points (6+6) and 32 penalty minutes.

Pens lose 3-1 to Boston (8-Feb-2006)
The Penguins get outshot 38-17 in a 3-1 loss to Boston in front of 15,603 at Mellon Arena. Brad Stuart had two power play goals and Travis Green scored the other for the Bruins. Pittsburgh's lone goal came from Tomas Surovy with 1:31 to go in the game. Marc-Andre Fleury was the game's third star with his impressive 35 save performance.

Pens lose 5-2 to Ottawa (6-Feb-2006)
The Penguins get outshot 46-24 and lose 5-2 to the Senators in front of 19,877 at Scotiabank Place. Ryan Malone had the Pens up 1-0 1:14 into the game but Ottawa then scored the game's next four goals including two power play goals. Eric Boguniecki scored the other Pittsburgh goal. Michel Ouellet injured his right knee early in the third period and left the game.

Pens lose 7-2 to Senators (2-Feb-2006)
The Penguins give up three shorthanded goals in a 7-2 loss to Ottawa in front of an announced crowd of 14,714 at Mellon Arena. Pittsburgh played well for the first half of the game and held a 2-0 lead with goals from Michel Ouellet and Ryan Malone before the wheels fell off. Ottawa scored two shorthanded goals on the same Penguin power play to tie the game and then reeled off the game's next five goals.

Besides the three shorthanded goals, the Pens gave up three power play goals two of them being 5-on-3 advantages. The lone even strength goal the Sens scored was on a 4-on-4.

Sidney Crosby sat out for the first time this season. He has the flu.

Pens lose 3-1 to the Rangers (1-Feb-2006)
The Penguins give up three special team goals in a 3-1 loss to the New York Rangers in front of 18,200 at Madison Square Garden. New York opened the scoring with a Steve Rucchin breakaway shorthanded goal at 4:05 of the first. Mark Recchi tied it at one with a superb end-to-end power play goal with 10 seconds to go in the opening period. Marc-Andre Fleury recorded his first NHL point with an assist on the goal. The Rangers got the eventual game-winner on the power play from ex-Pen Michal Rozsival at 10:22 of the second. Petr Sykora closed out the scoring with a power play goal at 9:51 of the third.

February Practice Schedule released (1-Feb-2006)
The Pittsburgh Penguins' February Practice Schedule at RMU Island Sports Center has been released. The Pens have a post-Olympic mini-camp scheduled Feb 22-27.
