The Penguins split a pair of road games over the weekend. On Friday, they lost 4-1 to the Hurricanes but rebounded on Saturday with a 6-5 shootout victory over Toronto.

Penguins acquire Alexei Kovalev from Ottawa (24-Feb-2011)
The Penguins have acquired Alexei Kovalev from Ottawa for a 2011 conditional seventh-round draft pick. According to TSN's Bob Mckenzie if the Penguins win in the 1st round of playoffs and Kovalev plays in 50% of the games in that series, it becomes a 6th round pick. Kovalev waived his no trade clause to join Pittsburgh.

Penguins lose to Sharks 3-2 in overtime (23-Feb-2011)
The Penguins lose for the seventh time in nine games as they fall 3-2 to the Sharks in overtime in front of 18,253 at an occasionally lit CONSOL Energy Center. Pittsburgh got two goals from Tyler Kennedy including the goal which sent the game into overtime with 50 seconds to go in the third.
Brooks Orpik was injured in the first and did not return after being struck in the hand with a shot.
Penguins defeat Avalanche 3-2 in overtime (16-Feb-2011)
Tyler Kennedy scores in overtime as the Penguins defeat the Avalanche 3-2 in front of 17,357 at Pepsi Center. Joe Vitale scored his first NHL goal late in the first to give the Pens a 1-0 lead after one period. Colorado responded with two in the second by Chris Stewart and rookie Cameron Gaunce but Jordan Staal tied it up 32 seconds after the Gaunce goal. Kennedy got the game-winner off a rebound with 49.2 seconds to go in overtime.
Penguins lose 5-3 to the Rangers (13-Feb-2011)
The Penguins grab an early two-goal lead but lose 5-3 to the Rangers in front of 18,200 at Madison Square Garden. Pittsburgh was up 2-0 after early first-period goals from Deryk Engelland and Nick Johnson but New York scored the game's next five goals leading 5-2 after two periods. Brett Sterling added a power play goal for the Pens at 5:12 of the third but the Pens lost for the fourth time in five games.
Penguins defeat Kings 2-1 with Staal OT winner (10-Feb-2011)
The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Los Angeles Kings 2-1 with a Jordan Staal goal at 4:41 of overtime in front of 18,208 at CONSOL Energy Center. The Pens played all four call-ups from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and one of those, Brett Sterling, opened the game's scoring at 6:53 of the first. Jarret Stoll scored late in the first for Los Angeles.
Pittsburgh played without seven forwards due to either injury or suspension. Dustin Jeffrey was injured in the game and will not travel to NY for the Islanders game Friday.
Penguins blank Islanders 3-0 (2-Feb-2011)
The Penguins continue their winning ways without Crosby and Malkin as they defeat the Islanders 3-0 in front of 18,142 at CONSOL Energy Center. Pittsburgh got two in the first from Tyler Kennedy and Chris Kunitz. Max Talbot added an empty-netter. The game also saw Pens goaltender, Brent Johnson, drop Isles goaltender Rick Dipietro in a one-punch fight with seventeen seconds to go.
