Pittsburgh hosting 2011 Winter Classic at Heinz Field (28-May-2010)
The Post-Gazette is reporting that the Penguins and the Washington Capitals will face off in the 2011 Winter Classic on New Year's Day at Heinz Field.

Penguins' season ends with 5-2 loss to Montreal (12-May-2010)
The Penguins' season ends and the Civic Arena closes with a 5-2 loss to the Canadiens in Game Seven in front of 17,132 fans. Sidney Crosby took a penalty ten seconds into the game and Montreal converted at the 32 second mark. The onslaught was on as Marc-Andre Fleury yielded four goals on 13 shots before he was pulled for Brent Johnson at the 5:14 mark of the second period. Pittsburgh responded with two second period goals but Jaroslav Halak, the game's number one star, shut out the Pens the rest of the way.

Canadiens force Game Seven with a 4-3 win (10-May-2010)
The Penguins and Canadiens are headed to a Game Seven after Montreal defeated Pittsburgh 4-3 in Game Six in front of 21,273 at Centre Bell. The Habs scored 1:13 into the game but the Pens got the game's next two goals but were unable to get a two-goal advantage. Montreal scored twice near the middle of the second to make it 3-2 and then added the eventual game-winner at 11:03 of the third. Bill Guerin deflected a Sergei Gonchar shot with 1:24 to go but the Penguins were unable to tie the game in the closing minute.

The Penguins take a 3-2 series lead with a 2-1 win over Montreal in front of 17,132 at Mellon Arena. Pittsburgh got a first-period goal from Kris Letang and the eventual game-winner in the second from Sergei Gonchar which built a 2-0 lead. Montreal scored late in the third but the Pens held on for the victory.

Canadiens tie series with a 3-2 win over Penguins (6-May-2010)
The Penguins let one slip away by blowing a one-goal lead heading into the third and losing 3-2 in front of 21,273 at Centre Bell. Montreal opened the scoring early in the first with a weak sharp-angle goal. The Penguins recovered quickly by responding with a goal from Max Talbot and then a deflection goal off of Chris Kunitz's skate. The lead held until the early part of the third when the Canadiens got two goals in a 1:33 span. The first was a wraparound by Maxime Lapierre followed by a Brian Gionta shot which deflected in off of Kris Letang's skate.

Penguins shut out Canadiens 2-0 (4-May-2010)
The Penguins take a 2-1 series lead by blanking the Canadiens 2-0 in front of 21,273 at Centre Bell. Marc-Andre Fleury turned in his best performance of the playoffs finishing with 18 saves including several key third period stops. Evgeni Malkin scored the game-winner on the power play at 1:16 of the third and Pascal Dupuis added an empty-netter with 15 seconds remaining.

Penguins and Canadiens split opening games (2-May-2010)
Pittsburgh and Montreal split the opening games of their series in Pittsburgh. On Friday night, the Penguins went 4-for-4 on the power play and defeated the Canadiens 6-3. On Sunday afternoon, Jaroslav Halak turned in a 38-save effort in a 3-1 Montreal win to even the series at one game each.
