Tonight's preseason game against Washington is being televised by Comcast Sportsnet. On DirecTV, it is channel 629. Game starts at 7:00pm.

Roy suspended for two games (30-Sep-2005)
Pittsburgh's Andre Roy has been handed a two game regular season suspension for twice making a throat slashing gesture towards Washington's Robin Gomez in a preseason game.

FSN Pittsburgh announces 2005-06 schedule (21-Sep-2005)
FSN Pittsburgh has released their 2005-06 Penguins television schedule. All 82 games will be televised this season with FSP covering 66 games, UPN Pittsburgh airing 6, OLN airing 7 and NBC airing 3.

Line-up vs Bruins (21-Sep-2005)
Dave Molinari, in today's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, has reported that the Pens' line-up against Boston in tonight's pre-season game will be as follows:
Goalies: Jocelyn Thibault and Dany Sabourin
Defensemen: Josef Melichar, Steve Poapst, Lyle Odelein, Daniel Fernholm, Dick Tarnstrom and Sergei Gonchar
Forwards: Sidney Crosby, Mario Lemieux, Ryan Malone, Mark Recchi, Lasse Pirjeta, Matt Murley, Colby Armstrong, Maxime Talbot, Ziggy Palffy, Ryan VandenBussche, Erik Christensen, and Daniel Carcillo

Pens re-sign Orpik (13-Sep-2005)
The team announced today that they have re-signed D Brooks Orpik. Terms not yet released although the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported today that the team was believed to have offered a one-year, $600K deal.

Mike Lange re-signed by FSN Pittsburgh (13-Sep-2005)
FSN Pittsburgh has re-signed announcer Mike Lange to a one year deal with a one year FSN option. Lange enters his 30th season as a Penguins announcer.

Pens re-sign Lemieux (9-Sep-2005)
In the least shocking announcement in club history, the Pens have re-signed center Mario Lemieux. In accordance with club policy, terms of the contract were not released.

Pens trade Beech to Nashville (9-Sep-2005)
The Pittsburgh Penguins have traded center Kris Beech to the Nashville Predators in exchange for a conditional draft choice.

Pens formally sign Crosby (9-Sep-2005)
The Penguins announced that Sidney Crosby, the 2005 NHL overall number one pick, has signed with team. It is a 3 year deal with a base salary of $850K per the terms of the new collective bargaining agreement.

Pens sign D Lyle Odelein (2-Sep-2005)

Kevin Stevens joins Pens scouting staff. (2-Sep-2005)
The team announced today that Kevin Stevens has been hired as a scout. Stevens will scout both amateur and professional games for the Penguins focusing on the New England area.

Penguins re-sign Ryan Malone (1-Sep-2005)
The Penguins have re-signed Ryan Malone to a one year, $750K deal.
