Pens claim Stewart off waivers (27-Sep-2006)

Malkin won't need surgery (25-Sep-2006)
C Evgeni Malkin will not undergo surgery for his dislocated shoulder. He will continue to undergo rehabilitation and no official timetable has yet been set for his return although there have been reports he'll miss 4-6 weeks.

Pens send 8 to WBS (24-Sep-2006)
The Penguins have sent eight players to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins forwards Erik Christensen, Stephen Dixon, Jonathan Filewich, Connor James, Tyler Kennedy and defensemen Matt Carkner, Micki DuPont and Alain Nasreddine. The moves leave the roster at 29 roster (17 forwards, 9 defensemen and three goaltenders).

Malkin/Recchi injured in last night's game (21-Sep-2006)
Evgeni Malkin, playing in his first NHL action, collided with John LeClair and appears to have separated his left shoulder. A video of the collision can be found at http://broadband.espn.go.com/ivp/splash?id=2596614. Update: The team has announced that Malkin suffered a dislocated shoulder and will be further evaluated next week.

Mark Recchi was also injured when he took a stick near the eye. The Post-Gazette is reporting now that he has a broken left cheekbone. He has been cleared to play but will be held out of Friday's game as a precaution.

Penguins send 5 to WBS (21-Sep-2006)
The Penguins have sent forwards Dennis Bonvie and Joe Jensen, defensemen - Ryan Lannon and Michal Sersen and goaltender - Andrew Penner to WBS.

Penguins to go captain-less this season (18-Sep-2006)
According to the Canadian Press, Michel Therrien has stated that the Pens plan to play the season without a captain.

Penguins drop five players from camp (17-Sep-2006)
The Penguins re-assigned four players to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins - forwards Jordan Morrison, Mathieu Roy and Tim Wallace and defenseman Paul Bissonnette. Goaltender Patrick Ehelechner was returned to Duisburg (Germany).

Forty three players remain on the training camp roster.

Pens announce dates for camps (13-Sep-2006)
The Penguins rookie camp will be held Sept. 7-12 at Mellon Arena. Practices on Saturday, Sept. 9 and Sunday, Sept. 10 will be open to the public. Times for the 9th and 10th are 10:00am-11:30am.

The Penguins training camp will run from Sept. 14-17 at Mellon Arena. Practices on Sept. 15-17 will be open to the public. Times for the 15th-17th practices will be 9:00am - 12:30pm.

Penguins sign Malkin (5-Sep-2006)

Malkin arrives in Pittsburgh (4-Sep-2006)

Penguins heading to boot camp (1-Sep-2006)
