Gonchar out 4-6 months (29-Sep-2008)
ESPN is reporting that Sergei Gonchar will miss 4-6 months after having surgery on his dislocated left shoulder.

Pens assign 13 to WBS (23-Sep-2008)
Thirteen players have been assigned to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Kris Beech, Ryan Stone, Adam Henrich, Aaron Boogaard, Tim Wallace, Jonathan Filewich, David Gove, Christopher Minard, Deryk Engelland, T.J. Kemp, Ben Lovejoy, Joey Mormina and David Brown.

The Penguins have 16 forwards, 10 defensemen and three goaltenders, for a total of 29 players remaining at training camp.

Gonchar injured in pre-season opener (21-Sep-2008)
Sergei Gonchar injured his left shoulder on a late hit from David Koci in the first period of the opening pre-season game versus Tampa Bay. Gonchar is scheduled to undergo an MRI to determine the severity of the injury.

Pens cut 9 players from camp (19-Sep-2008)
The Penguins have sent Luca Caputi, Joe Haddad, Dustin Jeffrey, Nick Johnson, Mark Letestu and Jonathan D'Aversa to WBS. Alex Grant (St. John's), Keven Veilleux (Rimouski) and Casey Pierro-Zabotel (Vancouver) were returned to their junior teams.

Forty two players remain in camp.

Training Camp Schedule released (10-Sep-2008)
The Penguins will open their 2008 Training Camp on Tuesday, Sept. 16 for physicals, testing and meetings at the UPMC facility on the South Side.
