The Penguins lose 2-1 to the Rangers in Game Seven in front of 18,635 at CONSOL Energy Center. The Rangers completed their first-ever comeback from a three-games-to-one series deficit. Jussi Jokinen tied the game at one at the 4:15 mark of the second period but New York converted a power play 3:41 later. Pittsburgh outshot New York 36-20.

Penguins close out series with a 4-3 win in Columbus (28-Apr-2014)
The Penguins get a hat-trick from Evgeni Malkin and win 4-3 to close out the series in front of 19,189 at Nationwide Arena. Pittsburgh had a 4-0 lead heading into the third as Brandon Sutter also added his third of the playoffs. Columbus made it interesting scoring three times in a 4:52 span of the third but the Pens held on for the series win. Brandon Sutter and Joe Vitale both left the game with injuries. The Penguins await the winner of the Flyers-Rangers series.
Penguins blow Game Four 4-3 in Columbus (23-Apr-2014)
The Penguins blow a three-goal first-period lead and lose 4-3 in overtime to Columbus in front of 18,970 at Nationwide Arena. Pittsburgh appeared to be on their way to a destruction of the Blue Jackets after scoring three times in the first 11:10 of the first period but Columbus chipped away with goals in each period including a horrific Marc-Andre Fleury misplay of the puck with under 30 seconds to go that led to the game-tying goal by Brandon Dubinsky. Fleury then gave up a long-range, unscreened shot at 2:49 of overtime to take the loss. He ended with a 42 save effort.
Penguins win Game Three 4-3 in Columbus (21-Apr-2014)
The Penguins overcome a third-period 3-1 deficit to defeat Columbus 4-3 in Game 3 in front of 19,148 at Nationwide Arena. Pittsburgh found themselves out-played and out-scored 2-0 near the end of the second period when Brooks Orpik scored with under two seconds to go in the period. The Blue Jackets restored their two-goal cushion at the 1:04 mark of the third but the Pens then scored three times in a 2:13 span on consecutive shots. Marc-Andre Fleury, after a shaky start, stopped 17 of 20 shots. All three games have been 4-3 finals with the winners coming back from two-goal deficits.

The Penguins overcome a 3-1 deficit to defeat Columbus 4-3 in the opening game of the playoffs in front of 18,646 at CONSOL Energy Center. Jussi Jokinen, Beau Bennett, Matt Niskanen and Brent Sutter scored for Pittsburgh. Marc-Andre Fleury made 31 saves on 34 shots for the win.
