Rules:
Pick a player and score points based on his points scored in the game. Accrue more points than anyone else over the course of 82 games and the playoffs and you win. Players are weighted so check the table and chose wisely. Player groups will be updated every ten games. The current list will be the scoring structure for games 11-20. Picks must be submitted by faceoff time*. No conditional picks **. PM'ing of picks is no longer allowed. There is one way to make a pick and that is to post it in the thread. If you are unable to get to a computer, you'll just have to sit out that game. Also, there is no ticket prize given to the winner this year. The generous ticket donor from last year is not donating this year so the game will be purely for fun and bragging rights on the board. So make your pick and let's try to have a good time.
New Rule- If your player scores in the shootout he will earn one point. Shoot out points are not subject to the multipliers (i.e. Malkin shootout goal and Godard shootout goal are both worth one point).
*- Actual faceoff times are almost always eight minutes after scheduled game times. So a 7:30 game will usually have a 7:38 faceoff. If there is a dispute, we will go to the official NHL score sheet which lists game start times. A pick made at the same time as faceoff will count.
**- A “Conditional pick” goes something like this. “I’ll take Eaton if he is dressed, if he is scratched I’ll take Crosby.” No more of that. Part of playing the game is knowing who is playing the game. In the above instance, the recorded pick would be Eaton. Keep in mind you can always edit picks if you see that your guy is not playing that game as long as you do so before the faceoff.
The fine print. In the event of a tie after the final game of the season, the first tiebreaker will be which person had the highest single game point total. If it is still tied after that, the second tie breaker will be which person had the fewest zero point games (starting at Game 1). If it is somehow still tied after that, then it's a tie. Finally, Let's go Pens!
