Yes they did...Roman Cechmanek, Roman Hamrlik, Roman Polak, Roman Vopat, The Pens own Roman Simicek, Roman Turek, Roman Voloshenko, Roman Lyanshenko, I'm sure there are more.
who knew?

Does anyone know that if the seat colors are going to be what they showed in the CGI images? I know sometimes they artsy stuff up for PR purposes? But those black and gold seats looked amazing!

i dont think anyone in E or F has to worry about being very far from the ice. this 2nd level is extremely low compared to most new arenas. they may get stuck in the corners.....but as far as distance from ice....it should be a lot better than most were expecting.
for those of us in the D level....it will be awesome that when anyone within 15 rows in front of you stands up....they wont be blocking your view of the ice like at Mellon.

I like how there isn't a section that over laps another. Like how F covered E and E covered some of C. I used to love sitting in the first row of E in the Igloo, for the view and price it worked well for me. The first row of the 2nd teir looks to be some prime seating. I kinda prefere the upper view as if you are to low behind the goalie. when the play is in the other end things look like a jumbled mess of players. If you are up higher you can see things develop a little better. But i can't argue center ice close to the boards are just unreal to see a game from. With all the new arenas that have sprouted up, its easy to oick one to model from that gives you the most seating, with not a bad view in the house.
I heard there is going to be a resturant in the arena that you can watch the game from? how does that work? do you sit there the entire game, do you make reservations befor the game and get a period to eat and see the game?? Any idea? Do you buy your tickets from the resturant??

For what it's worth I went to games in DC and Philly where they have restaurants in the club level endzones that overlook the ice. In Philly you had to have a special sticker you put on your ticket for access to the club/restaurant. There were also a few rows of very pricy seats you could buy for individual games that were in front of the glass of the restaurant but you could still see the whole game from inside. In DC there was a logo imprinted onto the season ticket that got you into the club that overlooked the ice. There were tables you could reserve (or sit at if nobody else was there) that overlooked the ice at Verizon Center. Both arenas had some pretty sweet lounge areas too in the club/restaurant area. Again, take it for what it's worth since I'd hate to see the Pens copy anything the Flyers and Caps do but as far as restaurants in new arenas that seems to be the layout from my experiences.

I remember saying that they wanted aspects of HP Pavilion Center, Xcel Engery Center and Nationwide Arena, I think the closeness of the seats comes from Xcel they say it's an awesome place to watch a game.
I live close to San Jose and have seen a ton of games there and the tank really is a fun (loud) place to watch games.... too bad in all the years I've been going to watch the Pens when they are in town they lose

I was in San Jose for the Pens game in November and was quite unimpressed with the arena. It lacked character. On the other hand, Nationwide was awesome. And I've never been to Xcel but have heard it's an awesome place.

Nationwide would have lacked character too, if it wasn't overrun by the Pens fans

I wish I could have gone to either of the last two Pens games there. Every other game I've been to there was a bore--including their brief flirtation with the playoffs last year.

There's a restaurant here in Ottawa called "The Ledge". Now, I'm not 100% how it works, as I've never been, but I'm pretty sure it's up high, basically where standing room only would be, and you get to sit there the whole game. I could be wrong, though, I have no idea.
Here's a video I found, this actually looks pretty sweet. It actually explains how it all works.

that looks really cool. i just hope the pens dont price it outrageous where there are only a select few who can eat there.

That looks totally wicked, reading this and seeing the pics just makes me sad, living all the way in New Zealand the chances of going to a game any time so are pretty remote. You guys don't know how lucky you are being able to watch the games in person.

Thanks for posting. Has your friend told you what the Jumbrotron will look like? I want one with all the bells and whistles.
Or at least two bells and three whistles.

You got to wonder how much an evening would run you in that kind of setup. Price of the game and the price of your meal ontop of that. i wonder if its like chicken fingers and fries or Chicken corndon blue with parsley potatoes. Can you order reserve wines, or is iron city on tap?? i heard they have at some arenas all you can eat seats. I couldn't imagine having 4 or 5 nacho grande during the game. Topping it off with ice cream and twislers.
With what beer is priced now, how much will it cost in the new arena?? I hate to sound like a hillbilly cheapskate, but i still bring in my mini bottle of rum, buy a large half cup of diet coke and mix and drink that for the game. It pays for itself, $5 for the 200 ml bottle and 5.50 for the large diet coke. Compared to the cost of 3 or 4 beers. It saves a hell of alot. and saves a ton a trips to the bathroom, beer flys right through me.
