So what else do the Pens have to take into conciferation in trading someone.

Need? No we really don't have a terrible need for anything once we are healthy. Even if we do have one we can wait tile the dead line.

Cap? well we are pressed to the cap so we will have to make a low budget move. Player for player or Player for draft picki.

Waivers. We got no forwards who can clear waivers so there is a risk of any demotion we make. Besdies Maatta and Bennette but these guys we expect to be around for the whole season. Jefferys you can send down be he will get picked up. I wouldn't be suprised to see Jefferys be another Letestu. There is just n way he will get time on our team at center. If i was him i would be asking to be traded or something. He isn't as good as Sutter and any injuries Jokenin well get moved to center before Jefferys. And Vitale is a awesome energy 4th line center and gets PK time.

Got to be Jefferys.

Given how our D has played so far, I really wish we could have done a sign and trade with Letang.

I see very little offense coming from our D and I see Matt Niskanen sometimes taking a split-second too long to make a decision, especially on the PP. That's at least my impression. I don't mind Niskanen, but he's not capable of carrying the load over a full season.

considering the lack of scoring depth from our forwards, i think it's pretty important to keep letang.

Because there was no qualifier on when this theoretical trade would actually happen?

Well then everyone not named Crosby and Malkin are likely to be traded or not re-signed.

Kunitz Crosby Dupuis
Jokinen Malkin Neal
Kobasew Sutter Bennett
Glass Vitale Adams

Jeffrey, D'Agostini

Martin Orpik
Letang Scuderi
Maatta Bortuzzo

Niskanen, Engelland

Fleury
Zatkoff

I count 24 players when everyone but Vokoun is healthy. Someone has to go. That person is the most likely to be traded as they pretty much ahve to be. Someone is either getting traded or sent down and lost for nothing. Combine that with the coaches stating they don't like having 8 d-men on the roster and it would seem to me that someone is getting traded. I would imagine that everyone will be healthy well before the deadline which is when people seem to think Despres would be traded. So again I don't understand why he is on this list. I can see one or two of Jeffrey, Engelland, or Niskanen being traded well before the deadline. In my mind those three are far more likely to be traded than the other guys. It's not even remotely close. I don't see Despres being traded this year, including at the deadline. I don't understand why Orpik is on the list either.

I have to agree with you about Letang . I still wish they would just trade him and his $ 7 million salary.

Letang is still one of their top 2 defensemen. A good run of 9 games doesnt mean much.

Thats the point I was going to make, given their lack of scoring depth at forward I think Letang's salary would have been better spent on scoring depth. I dont see Letang who is a liability defensively as a fix for a lack of secondary scoring.

Shero isn't brain dead; therefore, Letang isn't going anywhere.

It's also a limited NTC. 15 teams, I think, he can refuse to go too.

Again, Shero isn't an idiot and Letang is not a dime a dozen player.

For my money Gonchar in his prime > Letang. Teams have found out how to beat the Pens and the blue print is packing it in defensively . At times teams have 5 guys below the circles on the Pens. If they had a defenseman with legit shot from the point it would force teams to play a bit more honest, but they dont. If Letang could work on his shot he could at some point justify the money he is being paid.

I think he's getting at the idea that Shero doesn't want to give himself the same reputation that Paul Holmgren has. I could be wrong though.

Is this for real? Really??

That's as bad as the caller on 105.9 this morning who asked if they could simply send Letang to the AHL in order to keep Maatta. You really can't teach "stoopid."
