Recchi/LeClair fans enjoy tomorrow's home game

Postby Bowser on Mon Mar 06, 2006 1:32 pm

It should be the last home game for Mark Recchi and John LeClair as Pittsburgh Penguins for the 2005-2006 season.

Just a little guess work for deadline Thursday...
Recchi goes to Carolina for D Anton Babchuk and C Matt Cullen
LeClair goes to Tampa Bay for RW Evgeny Artyukhin
Roy goes to NY Rangers for draft pick

I would love to see Babchuk and Cullen for Recchi. Cullen is a very underrated player, in my opinion, and if he shifted to wing, would compliment Crosby quite well. Babchuk is supposed to be very good, but can't crack a good Carolina defense. He'd be a welcomed addition.

Can't say I know much about Artyukhin. Actually, I never heard of him.

I would go one step further and say that Melichar and Roy go to the Rangers for someone like Dominic Moore or Jed Ortmyer, though I am not sure how much the Rangers value these guys. I just have a feeling the Rangers will want to get Melichar, considering his past with Rozsival and also the simple fact that they love Czechs and ex-Penguins.

I could also see Cross shipped to a team looking for some depth on the blueline....possibly a trade similar to Poapst for Bougenecki.

I'd look for Jackman to move as well.

As for thr Recchi to Carolina thoughts...wouldn't that be a kick in the nuts to Carolina! We take out one of your top wings so you're forced to trade us 2 nice young guys for our old vet!

Big body... saw him play against Wilkes Barre last season. He was by far the biggest guy on the ice and tried to get Ben Eaves (of all people) to fight.

I would like to see the Pens get in the game for Mike Comrie, but I fear that it will cost us to much to get him.

NYR doesn't need Roy when they have Orr (they don't get along well, if you remember).

Artyukhin is pretty worthless. All he has is size.

He sounds like a Russian Stojanov. Oh well, at least we wouldn't be trading Markus Naslund for him.

I never said these would happen, I'm just throwing mud against the wall. I'll be shocked if the Pens get anything worthwhile at the deadline.

Agree 100 percent. They are not trading anything of value, so it is unrealistic to expect value in return. To think guys like Recchi, LeClair, Gonchar, or Jackman have any huge value is ridiculous. They do have players with value, but those guys won't be dealt.

I just want to see something of substance in return, something that can give some type of result.

That means no Joel Bouchard's or Sivek's.

I think I was a bigger fan of Recchi and LeClair BEFORE they joined the Pens, despite playing for the Flyers - especially LeClair.

Let's go Pens!
