Witt traded to Isles?

For Parrish? No confirmation yet, but didn't Witt want to go to a contender? Not sure what the Caps would get in return, but speculation is Mark Parrish. If that's the deal, I see this as an even deal. Witt fills a need for the Isles, and Parrish, while inconsistent, has some talent and would probably do well with Ovechkin.

Could this be the deal that opens the floodgates?

BTW, Recchi for picks would be fine with me. Free up some money for Malkin, etc.

Odd, if true. Both guys are UFA and neither team is going anywhere this year. Maybe both want them to trade again for something else?

Whoa. Parrish on AO's line? AO, although he's one heck of an offensive machine (A one man highlight reel you might say), is a liability on 'D', pair him with Parrish... dear god... what do we call that line? The swiss cheese line"? They'd better put up a TON of points, cause tey're certainly going to give up a ton!

But, wouldn't that be the idea? At least as far as the Pens are concerned?

ovechkin a liability on D? you havent seen him play much have you.

players like kovalchuk and heatley are liabilities on D. ovechkin, while not as good as a malkin or a hossa on D, is not a liability.
