Waiver Possibility

Postby Mad City Mike on Wed Mar 08, 2006 5:32 pm

From TSN.ca:

The following players are also on waivers today: Tampa's Norm Milley, Phoenix goalie Philippe Sauve; Philadelphia's Turner Stevenson; Atlanta's Rico Fata and Chicago's Andy Hilbert.

Hilbert has been a great goal scorer in the minors. Maybe it's worth it to nab him and try him with Crosby.

You'd think they have nothing to lose at this point. But, for some reason, I think CP will pass.

I do think he's a bit of a head case. I think I read that in Chicago after he scored a couple against the Pens in the game we went to.

If anything, he'll claim Rico Fata back. :P

Hilbert was a Bruins holdout post lockout, before Chicago signed him. RFA and wouldn't accept a 2 way contract, I think. Not sure how much his contract was for, but CP will avoid him on principle alone. Hilbert could have been signed much ealier if you were willing to give him a one way contract. I predict no one picks him up off the waiver wire.
