Magnum I agree, EC could be worth alot more next year if he just makes minor strides along the boards.

So Welch it is...

from the Canadiens website...

Kovy comes back:
Sidelined for the last seven games with an elbow injury, Alex Kovalev will return to the lineup tonight. His presence on the ice is a timely one as the Russian forward, who celebrated his 34th birthday on Saturday, is the Canadiens’ leading scorer against the Maple Leafs this season. In five games, Kovalev has picked up five assists, bringing his career totals to 44 points in 40 contests
Kovy is not on waivers. He's playing tonight.

Hey, I didn't say that!

If we're trading Welch for Roberts I hope we're then turning Malone around to Carolina for Babchuk or Hutchinson.

Well he is 24 & still can't stay with the Pens & Nas got his chance because Welch wasn't playing well at all. And also new GM & front office doesn't have anything tied up in Welch

pensrule wrote:As for Robert, I'm holding off an commentary on him until I see what we traded for him. Gary Roberts is a beast. Unlike Guerin, Roberts style and experience is valuable for ths team for the playoff push and in the playoffs. He won't be here next year so if we end up giving up someone that isn't going to be here next year then great.

The only issue I have with giving up Christensen for Roberts is that you would think that Christensen could be more valuable in a package or something to get a younger player that could be here for a while than a rental. Ryan Malone I could care less. They could trade him away for Roberts, he's had 3 seasons to prove himself and it's pretty clear what he is here.

Welch is the trade piece going from the Pens.[/quote]

Missed where that was posted...

Hmmm... Have to think how I feel about this.. I like Welch but if the kid can't crack the lineup over Nasrredine, Scuderi and Melichar something has to be wrong. Haven't heard anything good about his play down in WBS either...

If this is true then Shero isn't done wheeling and dealing. There's a pretty big log jam of players ont eh roster.

According to a league source, Pens have asked Roberts to make a decision by 9 pm eastern. They have a few other things in the fire that hinge on the deal with Florida and Roberts waiving his NTC.

Pens are balking at the price Phoenix wants for Georges Laraque as the Pens have had more interest in defenseman Nick Boynton.
