I might be wrong, but I think that it's the other way around - Roberts wanted a trade to Ottawa or Toronto, but neither team was particularly interested.

With Sid. Roberts plays the left side, which is also where Staal is.

Roberts is still producing at a pretty productive clip. Say he is a slight improvement over Malone and Malone is now dealt to bring in a solid D-man it looks like a great pair of deadline deals to me

Yeah....we've actually seen Roberts play and is capable of keeping up with the normal speed of the NHL. Leclair just couldn't do it anymore. There's a big difference.

Ouellet and Christensen are the only guys that really fit that bill. Of the two, hopefully Ouellet. Or maybe Orpik? I don't know if 26 is really considered young though.

Yeah, but the difference that I can see is that Roberts is a better skater and way more intense.

By all accounts, Roberts brings it every night, is in better shape than LeClair ever was, and has a better work ethic.
