Any call ups-lines now?

Postby Pens4Life on Thu Mar 09, 2006 6:03 pm

I hope they will call up Welch.we are short on D.
Christensen maybe coming up too..
Lines then :
Armstrong - Crosby - Ouellet ; Gonchar - Orpik
Surovy - Christensen - Hilbert ; Whitney - Welch
LeClair - Malone - Boguniecki ; Scuderi - Melichar (Cairns)
Koltsov - Kolanos - Rita (Nordgren)

Welch almost certainly will be up as the team only has five defensemen for the next game, and after Orpik returns, they still only have six. That means Cairns would be playing every game.

It's hard to tell what will happen with the forwards. Hilbert and Nordgren will probably stay in the NHL. The other two may stay in the minors and either Christensen or Talbot will come up.

You pay a guy a million you play him..

That 4th line is horrible..

I would say either Hilbert goes on Crosby's LW just as an experiment, or Surovy goes back up there because there's not really any other good option there.

lines...

Postby penny lane on Thu Mar 09, 2006 6:26 pm

i like the energy of the K Koltsov/Jani Rita/T Surovy line,
would leave this one as is.
I also think E Christensen should finish in WBS.

Call up N Welch.

Sid's line...Colby/Leclair or Malone back to wing?

If I remember correctly this is basically what has been used since coming back from the break:

Recchi-Crosby-Armstrong
LeClair-Malone-Boguniecki
Surovy-Rita-Koltsov
Roy-Endicott-Ouellet

Subtract Recchi and Endicott, and maybe Ouellet depending on his injuries. Add Hilbert. Kolanos, Nordgren, Taticek may or may not be going to WB. I am guessing Kolanos and Nordgren stay up. So then you likely get this to start with:

Hilbert-Crosby-Armstrong
LeClair-Malone-Boguniecki
Surovy-Rita-Koltsov
Roy-Kolanos-Nordgren

Noah Welch almost has to be a lock for his 1st NHL game on Saturday. Then again, with the way this season has gone I would not be surprised to see them dress 5 D either.

OK, here's the latest.

Krys Kolanos and Petr Taticek have been assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. As of right now, Shane Endicott's conditioning stint looks like just that, merely a two-week trip to the minors.

Marc-Andre Fleury and Ryan Whitney will be on the WBS clear day roster.

Pittsburgh needs to call up a defenseman, but it won't be Noah Welch.

More later.

Ziggy you on crack -

Bogy plays with heart and has played really well with Malone and LecClair. Is Bogy not "Positional Offenseman" you salavate over. Steve Poapst was worse than your idol and life partner Joe Melichar

How could you ever say that Poapst is better than Whitney?

First off, he is still very young and makes young mistakes.

But Poapst is useless....simply useless.

When he was here he made rookie mistakes every night. He is not positionally sound. He cant hit, and he has no offense.

Watch the way Whitney has been playing lately and you will see what that kid is capable of. He will be a #1 defenseman in this league soon.
