Woohoo! Great job today, guys!

I have to say, it's more meaningful when the team's first shutout is against Philly. :)

And we blank em. A big Donut for the the Flyers. Is that the first shut out of the year for us? I can't remember when the last shut out was.

I am so happy to see Fleury get the shutout. The kid deserves it. Great team effort tonight.

Killing off a 7 min Penalty is almost unheard of.

2003 vs. The Blackhawks???

I'm pretty sure that was a 1-0 game.

Hilbert has really given this team 2 strong PK units.

Hilbert is bringing a lot to this team. As is Rita.

It looked like it took Rita some time to get going, but he's paying off.

I just hope this lasts. I hope Therrien really can keep control of this team and we can see another shalacking of Jersey thursday.

i think jersey is going to be a problem. they are gonna come back pissed wanting revenge from the last game.

the penguins have played well these past 2 games, but the opponents also havent played their greatest. i think this away jersey game is going to be a big test

This is a very, very, very impressive win. Fluery made some great saves and get his much deserved shutout. Crosby and Armstrong look like Lemieux and Stevens out there and of course, that HUGE penalty kill was simply awesome. Great job guys!! :D

I hate Gauthier, he is a little punk that runs guys and cant back it up.. He got what he deserved.

I still can see that hit he put on JR in the pre-season, nasty cheapshot.

Biggest stat of the game...Philly had 22 shots on goal...TOTAL....that's pretty solid defensive work...and Scuderi was a man tonight...since February 10th the Penguins are the number 2 offense in the league averaging 4.33 goals per game....only team better...the Sabres

Pens were also 61% on faceoffs tonight 28-18. Very nice to see them win so many draws.
Crosby 14-6

wow. I wish I was cool enough to clog up a topic on one of the best games the team played all year with countless asinie comments and 5 million nested quotes. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Crosby struggled greatly on draws early on. I think that was part of the reason he was moved to wing. That continued when MT moved him back to the middle but he's steadily improved in that area as time went on.

But he's no Ron Francis though.

Rita has the speed and the qucik hands to play with Crosby. He just needs to figure out where to be to get the puck. A couple times he was a half step away from where Crosby dished the puck but both goals were in a big part due to Rita going to the net and making space.

I don't know if he will stick on the top wing but I think he can still be a top 6 forward for us.

I've posted them in other threads. The Pens dominated us, no doubt but they've played the Flyers tough all year. No surprise there. The Flyers are lifeless. 1 shot on 7 minutes of PP time? Pathetic. Good kill.

Gotta hand it to ya FN, you're atleast man enough to take your medicine.

In the 25 plus years I've followed the rivalry, I haven't had a ton of chances to give it to you Flyer Fans, so i gotta take every chance I get. :-)

I drove by a group of fans this morning in Flyer gear at the gas station near my house, they seemed to be preparing to journey home.

I ushered their journey along with "Armstrong OWNS YOU "EXPLETIVES".
