Im sorry, Nasreddine will not be in Pittsburgh ever again after this season.

And i beleive that Murley, Koltsov and Surovy are on their last chances. If they do not show some type of niche that they fill that we cannot live without, they are all gone.

The player who will be here next year are...

LW-Christensen,Malone, Hilbert
C-Crosby,Malkin, Talbot, Kolanos
RW-Armstrong,Ouellet,
D-Gonchar, Orpik, Whitney, Welch

Scuderi and Cairns will be replaced by a decent UFA signing, Redden or Chara type.

and we will probably bring in a higher-quality winger to play top line minutes.

So Surovy or Koltsov is gone yet you keep Kolanos? The Pens are his fourth organization this season. I'd rather keep both Surovy and Koltsov than him.

Redden and/or Chara coming here are pipe dreams. Period.

Why, because they are both unrestricted free agents, or that Ottawa cant afford to keep both, or is it cause we can actually afford to pay what they are asking? Ya, seems pretty illogical to me.

Mostly because those two will be the most sought after guys on the market, if Ottawa can't lock one or both of them up. The Pens aren't in a position to max out anyone and I imagine either of those two will get that, or will be real close.

Besides, the Pens still have a bunch of money tied up in Gonchar.

We won't be able to afford what they are asking. I really really believe that. I would doubt they would want to come here anyways. Pittsburgh is not going to be a huge commodity for FA to come to next year.

We may have lots of room under the NHL salary cap, but not a lot under the Pens self imposed "own" salary cap.

From your list:

LW: Christensen
C: Crosby, Malkin, Malone, Talbot
RW: Armstrong, Ouellet, Koltsov
D: Gonchar, Whitney, Orpik, Welch
G: Fluery

I don't know who else might be here, but these are the only guys I believe will be here in the long run.

That's not to say that you're wrong on Rita and Hilbert, but I need to see more before I consider them part of the next iteration of the Pens.

I personally don't like Scuderi's game, but if he were the 7th D I could live with it.

Kolanos is a huge question mark, Nasredinne will not be here long, and Morozov is never going to wear Black and Gold again.

As for Sabourin, the Pens need to have a veteran Goalie that is mature enough to play every two weeks and still play a professional game. That is not fair or smart to expect from a young goalie like Sabourin. Fluery will play 65 games next year, so someone a Vet who has once shouldered the load would be ideal.

Guys, PENS4LIFE doesn't even watch Pens hockey, he's stated before he doesn't get to see any games because he lives overseas.

He just looks at stats and then thinks he can figure out lines and who should be there? C'mon, give me a break.

Every day there is a post from him regarding a trade, or movement up and down from the AHL. Now it's lines for next season..he's basically living a playstation world it seems.

All this is rather silly but still fun, so my 2006-07 Pens:

Kessel-Crosby-Armstrong
Malone-Malkin-Christensen
Surovy-Hilbert-Ouellet
Murley-Talbot-Koltsov

Orpik-Gonchar
Welch-Whitney
Melichar-Scuderi

Fleury

A very young team but they should be exciting to watch.

id really like to see Morosov back in Pittsburgh next season....

after watching what he "can" do.. and watching the new rules this season, i think he would be a pretty good player in this league.

hes the upgraded version of Koltsov
