Philadelphia Inquirer editorial - arena-related

Postby Admin on Thu Mar 16, 2006 12:19 pm

That said, no way Rendell can do what some Penguins fans want - speak up for a Mississippi-based slots parlor applicant who pledges to pay for the $290 million hockey rink. That would be unfair to other applicants and could put Rendell in a legal fix.

A slots sugar daddy might be the ultimate hope for Penguins fans, but they shouldn't look to the governor to help that slots applicant, or any other.

Sounds like a prime candidate for a retort, if you ask me.

The Inquirer has been in Ed's back pocket since the days when he was the DA in Philly. There is no surprise that they'd have his back on this issue.

LOL, it's sweet how Fast Eddie's buddies in Philly have his back. You know, he ought to run for mayor of Philadelphia one of these days...
