Unofficial Game Thread - Pens @ Devils

Postby netwolf on Thu Mar 16, 2006 8:40 pm

As this is an unofficial thread, there can be no problem with it being posted after the opening faceoff. The "unofficial-ness" also absolves me from any responsibility with regards to outcome.

As I type that, great save by Fleury. Even more surprising? It earned him a compliment form Eeyore.

Less than 3 minutes in and we get some Gionta luvin and a mini-highlight package, just in case anyone forgot how that little bugger kills us on a regular basis.

Pressure by the top line results in two good chances, no goals though....

More pressure by LeClair and company results in a Devil PP. Colin White disagrees with the call.

Lange-favorite Gionta draws a penalty. Time for some 4 on 4...

lol the pens waived armstrong.

That Bob Errey is a wealthy of information - he said Armstrong was waived earlier this year. That's news to me.

Goal goes to Rita. Either way, Pens are up 1-0 and the top line continues to put on pressure. Image

Maybe he had to go through waivers to go to WBS at the begining of the year when every team had 5 or 6 players like him?

If memory serves correctly, they had to have Army pass through waivers at the beginning of the year to send him to WBS.

He had to pass through waivers to be assigned to WBS at the beginning of the season. I heard that last week for the first time.

Here we go:
"When the Penguins made their final cuts at the end of training camp last fall, Armstrong not only got assigned to Wilkes-Barre again, but the team also risked losing him to another club by exposing him to waivers."
