For about 3 years the senators had under 15 wins... *we* won't
get into their play-off troubles. More & more I want the sabres
to go far into the playoffs. Canadian attitude like that & I may
have to cheer for the flyers.

if ever there was a purrrfect game for a Sidney points explosion
it would be tonight as he introduces himself to alfredsson...
the other rookie!

Yeah, I'm starting to share your sentiment on the Sens as well, PL.

I've always liked the Sens, too. I still think they're a quality organization who provided one of the best models for building your club through the draft and through smart trades.

But Alfredsson's comments about Crosby really rubbed me the wrong way. I guess I just thought Alfredsson was above stuff like that. I don't even know if it was the comment itself...I mean, the guy's entitled to his opinions of Crosby. That's fine. It was more the unsolicited nature of the comment that bothered me. He was asked his opinion of Ovechkin. He could've stopped short of taking the shot at Crosby. But that's neither here nor there...

The thing that really bothers me is the Ottawa media. Their fans are great...at least the ones that I've encountered at the arena...very knowledgable and down-to-earth fans. But I'll tell you what...their media carries an awfully elitist attitude for a team that's only been past the first round of the playoffs three times since they came back to the league in 1993.

And I forgot...let's not even talk about the very legitimate claims of the Sens throwing the season to get Daigle.

1927, but how long was their team dormant?

Yes, but thankfully the Pens are four games over .500 in the Stanley Cup finals. So that's a nice tradeoff.

So the guy throws a fact out there and it's not right?

He wasn't bashing us at all.

59 seasons, unless you also include 92-93, 93-94, and 94-95. That's a combined record of 33-165-14 in those three years.

Yikes!

I always viewed Alfredsson as the Tim Duncan of the NHL. Perrenial all star that didn't have much to say, and when he did say something it wasn't controversial. It's unfortunate that he had to go and ruin the image he's created for himself the past 10 years or so with a stupid little comment that people are starting to say because it's "the cool thing to do".
