Will X-Force beat X-Gen?

Postby Zscout on Wed Mar 22, 2006 7:09 am

X-Force needs 12 more points in the next 13 games to tie the disaster of 03-04.
That said; X-Force cost Pens management about 20 million more in salary.
The names on the sweaters have changed, the man standing behind the bench has changed, but the results are the same.
No doubt the Pens fire Patrick, EJ and Malone. My guess is they promote Chuck Grillo to the GM position.

My management team for next year:

GM: Rick Dudley
Coach: Andy Murray
Assistant: Ulf Samuelsson
Head scout: Chuck Grillo

All I need is two more assistants. Thoughts?

They only have a head coach and 1 assistant now. You aren't getting two more. :P

But if you did, go talk to Ronnie Franchise.

X Gen > X Force

Perhaps they should ditch this whole campaign since it's obvious X = Losers

Ah Ah Ah... What does it mean when there's an x- in front of your team when the standings are published?

I always thought that meant the team made the playoffs or won their division. :-) :-) :-)

LOL! You guys might not make the playoffs but you guys still have the chance of playing spoiler in some up coming games especially those vs NJ.

Generation X didn't last too long if I recall correctly. It's circulation dropped rather quickly. X-Force is still around as far as I know. They did revamp it about 10 years ago to basically be X-Men B (Yellow team maybe?) but I haven't actually followed at all since the late 90's.

X generation started pretty much after the Kovy Kasparitis trades right?

Zscout - Chuck Grillo has no interest being a GM.

He loves being a scout and the time he puts into the Minnesota Hockey Camps to be a GM, especially at his age. He would be a fine Head Scout over Greg Malone.

Basically. It was the name for the 2003-2004 team which had virtually no NHL experience at all, outside of Buchberger, Berehowsky, and Eastwood, all of which were extremely painful to watch.

They really came on strong at the end of the year (with a little help from the schedule).

Even if they were terrible, I had a ton of fun that year attending 20+ games and only winning like 6 of the 20.

Hopefully X Force won't outstrip X Gen's points total. It will be the final nail in the coffin of this management team.

Since Brent Sutter allegedly has so much money, I would offer him part ownership of the Pens as well as the head coaching position. Unlikely, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Update -
12 games to go the X-force has 18 wins - they need 5 wins in the last 12 games to tie the futility of the X-Gen. They need 10 points in 12 games to tie the X-Gen point total.
The Pens points total went from 96 (Hlinka) - 69 (Kehoe) - 65 (Kehoe) - 58 (Olczyk) - xx (Therien).
Hopefully they have bottomed out and reverse this free fall.

There is no good X-Cuse for the team leaving. However, I do hope Patrick X-Cersises his right to free speach and blames all his bad moves on Mario Lemieu-X! That way, everybodys parania about the Big Guy running the show will be confirmed and Patrick will look like the drunken lout everyone proclaims he is!

Maybe I just need my head X-amed. :?
