Rendell seems to be spinning more than a 'freak' at a Dead concert.

On a related note, Ray Angeli replaces Conaboy.

I got a good chuckle from the comment by Frank Fahrenkopf Jr. '"There is no increase in crime''
Even if Frank were right, the security and survalence of a casino means a higher percentage will be caught. That alone will increase jail population and strain the court system.
Looks like some of those new F.C. jobs will be at the county jail

The Trib article suggesting that the state house/senate will legislate that the arena money be taken into account by the Gaming Board is most amusing. I cannot imagine that this will be legal, given that it changes the rules of the game after the game has started. But, it would be fun to see FC make themselves out to be the victims of such an effort.
Things are surely looking up.

I think that Trib article is VERY positive for the Pens and IoC. That's article from both major papers in Western PA putting positive spin on a "free arena" and calling out Rendell for the back-handed slime he appears to be. It's about time someone came out publicly and said "Who would think paying for (an arena) is as good as getting one for free?" Common sense should answer that question. Unfortunately, this is Western Pennsylvania we're talking about.

As someone mentioned on another board, on Nightly Sportscall Friday night, both Steigerwald and Dejvon(I forget how to spell his name) said they are very confident the Pens will get their arena.
Now, I'm not that confident, but I think the politicans are realizing now the CITY needs a new arena, not just the Pens, and they are going to have to do it real soon and make a sweet deal because now the Pens have come up with a totally private funded arena.
That is going to be very hard to beat. Rendell better not bank on the Pens making a large contribution or they will leave. He also will get killed by the public if taxes are used. He is in a slots or nothing situation.
