Not much to say really. Other than thanks for the article. Pretty much sums it up just fine.

I think Ovechkin wins it hands down, and honestly, if Crosby finishes third behing AO and Lundqvist, I can't say I'd be entirely surprised. Sid's had a fantastic year, but AO and Lundqvist have been outstanding in their own right as well.

None of what happens will be an indictment on Crosby as a player.

If not for the lockout, of course, this intriguing battle might never have materialized.

Ovechkin, the first pick of the 2004 entry draft, might well have been a Washington Capital that fall, thus avoiding a Calder comparison with Crosby, the first selection of the '05 draft, by the Pittsburgh Penguins.

No, if not for the lockout it would have been AO vs. Malkin :-)

Crosby would have won it hands down this year... (IMHO)

what I don't like is that after Alfredsson's quote every rookie comparision
article has to include that quote.

D Cox is correct in mentioning the huge factor of playing for
a winning/play-off team versus losing team.

right or wrong media will play up that Sidney will not win the
Calder. For him will only serve as motivation.

in 99, little remembered fact Jan Hrdina finished 5th in Calder! :!:
