Lemieux retirement?

Postby Shinoix on Fri Mar 31, 2006 5:34 pm

I'm guessing the re-raising of the number 66 won't be taking place this year?

I'm holding on to my voucher for an airline for the purpose of attending THAT game. Has nothing been announced yet? Will it be done next year?

Anyone know?

With Sid getting the C that night. Imagine the media frenzy.

And unveiling the agreement for a new arena! ALL IN ONE NIGHT. Popping sounds would be heard all over western PA as peoples' heads explode.

I doubt it'd be opening night. They'll probably save it for a weeknight game to maximize ticket sales. If I remember correctly, that's how it was done last time. The home opener will sell out regardless, whereas a Tuesday or Wednesday night game usually isn't going to attract a sellout crowd.

There's always giveaways for those, besides, next season they should average more fans regardless.

ahhh one can dream can't they?? unfortunatly, mario is NOT happy with pittsburgh at the moment. he's in las vegas for 3 weeks then heading straight to florida. i suppose he's fed up with all the slaps in the face he has been getting from the city....the poor guy just can't take much more :(

I don't think Mario wants or is after another ceremony at the
current Igloo. I want to see, Good-Lord willing, Mario's jersey
hanging at the top of the new Igloo. Opening game at new
facility is when Mario's next ceremony happens.

No no no... not Las Vegas... he went to visit his friends the Gretzky's in Arizona... easy mistake to make though, there's so many similarities :-)
