Malkin Update

Postby borohcky9 on Mon Apr 03, 2006 1:05 pm

Metallurg loses in the opening game of the semi-finals.

Chistov scores, Malkin with no points, but ends up with 3rd Star.

Is it is a "best of" series, or one and done.

If im reading correctly its a best of three series. In the other semi-final Morozov's team won their opening game...he had a goal and an assist.

If he said, "Opening" game....one would assume it's a best of series.

Correct?

I was going to post the same thing till I thought about the first game of the NCAA tourney being called the opening game by some of my coworkers.

Actually, if he said Metallurg's "opening" game.... then, yes, one could assume it's a best of series.
However, he said "the opening game".
Correct?

Um, no?

Opening game either way would lead one to believe it's a best of series.

If it was a one and done game, then technically there isn't an opening, in between or closing game. LOL

Opening Game generally means opening to a series. It only makes sense.

It was a simple question, obviously without too much analysis behind it. Great, now we know that Malkin's team is still alive and the Snapshot didn't think before he posted.

Snapper, I didn't say anything about your post. I'm correcting this Shinoix guy. Just alittle tired of coming here to read about the Pens and seeing this guy correcting everyone's grammar, spelling and word choices. This is at least the 5th time I've seen him try to correct someone's post. And it's starting to wear thin. People that think THEIR stuff don't stink, p!$$ me off.

It's cool, I'm not angry at anyone. I haven't noticed anything regarding him other than he tends to like the "heated" debate a little bit. I don't post as much anymore, so I don't connect the handle with the poster's style as quickly anymore.

Anyway, I'm cool with you, and I was actually poking a little fun at myself for what was actually not the most thought out post of my life.

I did notice a post of his where he said he has played Hockey on the Staal's famous back-yard rink. Maybe that does make him smarter than me. The closest I've been to NHL greatness was that I once had Jaromir Jagr try to run me over in his Benz, and I also played Hockey once with Gary Howwat of the old Islanders teams.

Anyway, this particular time I did give him his ammo, if he is indeed a sniper.

excerpt from head of Russian Hockey Players Union after meeting with Saskin. I won't be satisfied until opening night with Malkin in a Pens sweater, but I like reading something like this...

Normally, North Americans show their interests in other countries only for their own benefits. Is this the case?
A. Bardin: Yes, of course, and here is nothing to hide about it. At the moment, objectively speaking, NHL is stronger than us. Therefore, good Russian hockey and good Russian players union are needed for them, especially, from a point of view where they want to bring young players to NHL. They want us to have very good conditions for growing new talents. And, of course, the main question is an agreement between Russia and NHL, which, I’m sure, will be signed by fall and will be favorable for both parties.
