If the Pens end up with the first pick, the idea of trading down would be an intriguing one, but only if they are still able to pick in the top three or four. That said, like Allen suggested, I think Staal has benefited greatly from his brother's play, and I would hesitate picking him for that very reason. Also, he's a center, and the Pens have a couple guys named Crosby and Malkin who fill that need....

With the top player or two NOT being the run obvious choices anymore... anything is possible. It would ahve to be a deal like the one that got us Fleury though. One team wanting to bump up one or two spots just to make sure they get a specific player. All Florida really gained form the trade was Samuelsson.

#2 overall (Horton), 2nd rounder and Samuelsson
for
#1 overall (Fleury), 3rd rounder

I could see us bumping down a spot or two if StL, Chi or Was wanted a specific player... but I would expect the extra return to only be a roll player or another pick somewhere in the draft.

Maybe even a salary dump style deal

#1 and Thibault or Roy
for
#3, 2nd rounder and 3rd rounder
