Crosby uncertain for tonights game

Postby MWW on Thu Apr 13, 2006 6:44 am

Penguins leading scorer Sidney Crosby did not practice. A team spokesman said the rookie center was ill and his absence had nothing to do with the "lower body injury" that kept Crosby out of the second period of Saturday's game at Tampa Bay.

Crosby's status for tonight is dependent on how he feels. He needs seven points in the team's final four games to reach 100 for the season.

Hey now... if you go back you will see that I never questioned Jagr's skill level or abilities. It was his heart, attitude and the translation of his skill into his actions on the ice that I commented on.

OK, I generalized a bit.

But I remember your legendary battles with the Jagrites

That's because Jagrites are idiots... and it is in my job description to tell them that, lol.

Sidney, Jaromir, or Jim? :P

In the tribune review it said Sid has the flu but is expected to play.

This is why I originally wrote keep calm ;-)

A lot of the board oldtimers know that a debate with Jim about Jagr is allmost useless.

Will it help you if I join in? I was never a Jagrite, but since about 2000, I have come over to your dark side  . The guy is, simply put, a prima donna who only plays well when he feels like it. And after seeing his comments in the paper last weekend, I am more sure of it than ever.

When you play in Europe, you can do anything you want. You can relax, but you still play hockey. I think the year off helped me. Plus, the whole organization here in New York, it's all about professionalism. They just help you with everything. They just make sure you play the best hockey you can.

In other words, when he is pampered like a prima donna, he performs at his best.

Well, Jim. You should be a big fan of Ovechkin then, as he's called the "anti-Jagr"

How are you? Been to any Caps games lately?

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/12293201/

Ovechkin's disposition contrasts sharply with that of Washington's last superstar, Jaromir Jagr, who was prone to sulking and occasionally was standoffish toward some of his teammates and coaches. Ovechkin, some players and team employees have said privately, is the anti-Jagr.

"He's a normal guy with superstar status," center Dainius Zubrus said. "He's a very likable guy and that's why everyone in here is so happy for him. Look at what happened with the shaving cream the other day."

On the ice he seems to be a good bit like Jagr though. He seems to be interested in scoring and darn with the rest...

I do not like him or dislike him yet. I posted in another thread that hte video of him getting hit with the "pie" actually upped him a little in my opinion. He responded to it quite well. He laughed, whiped his face and then continued the interview.

My last Caps games were in mid March... I went to the NJ Friday game and the Ottawa Sunday game, made a weekend out of it. It was nice to see them loose twice, lol. AO got zero points in the two as well. ... however, I did get a Caps visor...
