Did anyone hear Franco Harris on DVE yesterday morning?

Postby conforto45 on Thu Apr 13, 2006 4:53 pm

They were railing him w/ questions about the IoC, the FC and Harrahs.

he sounded as if he had no knowledge about the IoC plan at all, and was reading from a script about the other 2 plans. Whenever they asked him even a simple question, he beat around the bush and couldnt give a legit answer.

He doesn't have a whole lot of time to study the various proposals, given all the dry cleaning he's picking up and the cars he's washing for the folks at Forest City. Plus, he's in training for his new casino valet parker and celebrity greeter job about 10-12 hours every day.

I think had it not been Franco, they would have tore him apart. Everytime they mentiobed the arena, Franco said he considered it "A Non-issue because of Gov. Rendell's great plan". He also kept repeating "we want whats best for Pittsburgh". He also said that "Nothing is for free, like the IOC arena...you know they have to pay to demolish the buildings"...which I think he estimated at close to $100 mil, which is a complete joke. I really admire the guy, but he came off sounding like a complete moron after the interview.

Yep. He kept talking about how everyone only talks of the positives of the IOC but not the negatives so they ask him what the negatives were and he couldn't even come up with any. I think they did rip him only in a friendly sarcastic sort of way.
