Marty Straka calls it quits

Postby Tomas on Mon Apr 17, 2006 4:52 pm

His National Team career, that is. Marty announced his retirement from international competition today. He walks away as an Olympics winner (+ 1 bronze medal) and a World Champion (+1 bronze medal). A total of 70 games, 23 goals.

Not bad for a former waiver reject. Craig Patrick sure did a few things right (also see e.g.: Lang, Robert; Slegr, Jiri....) :)

CP certainly did know how to work the waiver wire. Hilbert looks like a decent player as well.
