Favorite classic Mike Lang Goal announcements !

Postby FuturePens on Mon Apr 17, 2006 11:19 pm

Mike Lang is crazy! I love that guy !

He always puts a smile on my face with his funny comments, even when the Pens are loosing and don't score a goal, he has always something funny to say.

What is your favorite Mike Lang announcents?

Mine is the classic;

"Scratch my Back with a Hacksaw !"

Nothing beats a good "Heeeeeeeeeee shoots and scores!" after a huge goal.

I love Mike Lange, even though he's a bit senile these days. He'll always be the voice of the Pens, and I can't imagine the day (which probably will be soon) when he isn't calling them anymore.

I love him, too. A Pens game won't be the same without 'em.

I love the "The Kitchen's Closed!" after the Whitney goal.

While its not a real langism as it applied to a specific player... Growing up I was always a big fan of the "Dion says NO!!!!" And frankly I'm surprised that I don't recall him every utilizing that phrasing with any other goalie since.

He's used it pretty often with goalies over the years.

Yeah he has. Just like "GOOD shot but a better save by [Insert Goalie Name]"

I have always been partial to "She wants to sell my monkey!"

My favorite classic one was the time a young Jaromir Jagr shook Jeff Beuekeboom and Lange said somethin about Jagr leaving him out on somehighway headed in the wrong direction. I don't remember the specifics and am too lazy/tired too look. I'm sure there are people who remember what I'm talking about.

"He beat him like a rented mule" I rarely ever hear Lange unfortunately being in Philly and NY markets...but I believe that is one that he had/has, right? I think he even uses it in the movie Sudden Death, please correct me if I'm wrong...

"Buy Sam a drink and get his dog one too!"

Of course! 8)

I also like "And Elvis has just left the building" b/c it usually means the Pens have just sealed the win.

Non-goal announcement:

"He hit him so hard his kids will be born dizzy."

He had his time... he has now become what Cope became... A shell of his former self. His over the top "I don't want to get fines so I will not comment on what needs commented on" trend over the last few years has swept him right out of the booth as far as I am conscerned.
