It really truly puts all this in perspective - how bad it was, how great it was, how bad it was again and how great it is now! Does anybody remember sitting there before the lockout and just wishing we would get 10K+ in the arena and trying to picture what it was like to have a full intense crowd again- I did - and will never take it for granted again!

I remember going to a game in March of '04 and the Rangers were in town. The arena was very empty, but it was a great game and the Pens won in OT. During the one-hour ride home, I remember hoping the imminent lockout would fix the problems of the NHL so I could see a winning team and a full arena again. Three months later, Malkin was drafted. Then, the lockout was solved, Crosby was a Penguin, and the arena issue was finally resolved. Enduring the lean years makes you appreciate the success the team is having now and will continue to have in the future. And when the new arena is opened, let's hope for more than two Stanley Cup banners to be moved across the street. LET'S GO PENS!

Watched it last night. Pretty good show. It wasn't like they only brought in a couple past 4th liners to do interviews. They pretty much had guys speaking on the Pens from all the era's giving some quality memories. I know many of my friends have told me before that the 93 team was the best Pens team ever and that was pretty much the concensus on the program. I didn't get a chance to really watch hockey for a couple years during that time due to my time in the Marines.

One thing that really stood out to me, and I think I've forgotten about him is Paul Coffey. I was always anti Coffey due to our battles with the Oilers and that I think he was a bit overrated for a defenseman and overshadowed Mark Howe, but watching those highights of him really made me remember what an absolute incredible player he was. I used to have nightmares of his coast to coast rushes that started behind his own net. What a fabolous skater he was, probably the best ever. There isn't a player in the NHL today and especially not one defenseman who can compare to the flow and grace Paul Coffey displayed. Of course we're talking about a completely different era but still he was amazing.

Lucky to tune in just when they got to 1996; so not only
do you get to see the Fitzgerald goal again, you get to
hear him talk about it...since he now scouts for the pens.

Did not see all of it, but like most TV, I'm sure it
will be shown again.

Had some penguin soundbites from Ronnie and Lucky Luc R.

Showed some highlights of the mario-ronnie-jaromir line;
francis said he had to do the defense for the entire line,
but that was okay since it was magic when the pucks
went to either 66 or 68. :wink:

It's on a lot this week. Just turn on FSN and odds are it will be on.

I liked EJ's one comment about his first year as coach. "We had 22 people show up for camp. That's it, 22. Everyone that showed up... made the team."
