No thanks for the worst trade in the history of the league: Naslund for Stojanov. No thanks for letting Kovy and Jagr leave for a bunch of no-names or never-weres. Granted, your hands were tied under the old economic structure of the league, but come on now...Jagr for Beech, Sivek and Lupaschuk?
In the end, things may just have worked in the Pens favor. With all those negatives came a major positive in the form of Sidney Crosby, as well as Malkin, Fleury, etc. With CP at the helm we've experienced both the elation of two Cup wins, as well as extreme rock bottom as evidenced by the last couple of years.
There was no gray area with CP....things were either great or awful, but I suppose that, when all is said and done, I'd much rather have two Cup wins and several bad seasons, as opposed to many seasons in the middle.
