Johnson wouldn't be ready to go next year would he, nor would he slip by the Blues? Goglioski has some competition in camp, I don't know a ton about him, but can he make our team? And what about Rob Scuderi, anyone like him, or just me and Fleury? There also seems to be a lot of people that want to keep Eric Cairns around as an enforcer...

P.S. Aerosmith rocks 8)

I agree. The band has put out nothing worth listening to since Pump which was their pinnacle....

I think everyone needs to accept that we will end up with Kessel or Staal. That fact is good enough for me to sleep tonight. Johnson is establishing himself as the 'by and far' #1 pick and St. Louis will be aware of that on draft day.

This is not the end of the world.

We have some depth in up and coming blueliners, and we have an incoming GM who hopefully will fill the glaring hole in the back 6 that is Scuderi and Melichar. I'm sure we will sign someone who will fill the spot of one of these two.

Personally I think Letang will be here before Goligoski, but that's just me.

I wouldn't be surprised to see something like this next year.

Welch/Whitney
Gonchar/Orpik
Lannon/Mitchell (Willie)

Not too bad, certainly an improvement over the Odelein,Poapst mess we started with this year. I seriously doubt we will have a shot at Johnson, the sooner we all come to accept that...the better.

Goligoski should make the team eventually. His passing and shooting capabilities are quite good. His defense is lacking, of course, but he's no worse than Whitney.

I'm not saying the Blues won't take Johnson, but they were last in goals scored this year (193). Chicago (209) and Columbus (215) make up the bottom 3.

Suprisingly, Calgary scored the 4th fewest with 216 and they are the 3 seed in the West.

you don't pass on a franchise defenseman no matter what.

Not only that, they traded away their #1 center in Weight. I think they are poised to take a forward but they do have a proud tradition of great blueliners. MaCinnis, Duchense, Pronger, etc.. I wouldn't be shocked if they chose Johnson or traded down if they liked Kessel or someone else.
