Wow, I could see this post if a guy was giving no effort and doing nothing else...but really? He was absolutely robbed Wednesday night for a goal - he's doing everything else but scoring right now.

Oh come on... the guy has been rock solid defensively. Marian Hossa has been very visible in both games. He does things well away from the puck and defensively, he has been one of our best forwards. Oh and by the way, didn't we just win 2 games to start a hopeful long playoff run? His time will come and yes he does have 3 points in 2 games. He's still effective and respected enough by dmen to create more ice for Crosby out there. That in itself, is a valuable attribute HOSSA will bring to the table in the playoffs. His scoring touch will come. He is absolutely due for a breakout game.

He's also playing with a nice, surprising physical edge to his game.

i think what conforto means is we didnt trade all we did for him to be a defensive stall worth...

he is snake bitten for sure, and you can tell he is frustrated (looking to the heavens),

he will come around, but I agree with the main idea... we didnt need set up men... we want scoreres!

but otherwise he has been playing well!

LETS GO PENS

just a note for all you lgp haters... I love having hossa and will take him not scoring for wins... but a lot of ppl wanted him to be a scorer for sid... enough said

Yea seriously. As if armstrong or christensen were really going to do much at all in the playoffs. They aren't exactly two players who are going to force dmen to back up in the offensive zone if/when playing on Crosby's line.

Also, Hossa adds the element that gives this team Line 1A and Line 1B. Trust me, without Hossa, we wouldn't have two legitimate scoring lines and the Steel City Line also would not be as effective as they are.

This thread does not deliver.

Hossa's been playing great. Bounces aren't going his way.

But seriously- he's a great passer, he shoots a lot, he plays the body hard, he back checks hard.

After watching Sykora's interview I move that the Malkin line should be called the Drinking Line. Malone and Malkin have that look at times, too. (Not insinuating they have "the problem" of course)

Yeah, those 40-50 goals next season seem very unnecessary.

Hossa has been fine so far and will start to score goals very soon. He's going to be a hero for us before the playoffs are over.

Hossa should have given us the lead walking through the crease behind a goalie with the puck on his stick. He needs to play better and start scoring.

Gerber's robbed him blind twice in this series. Soon those will go in. Be a little patient.

Ok, that's fine and all. But there are so many different facets in his game, other than just scoring. I understand the main purpose of him coming in was to be a goal scorer. But he is the absolute total package. Adds a little bit of everything. And quite frankly, he has done everything and everything well other than scoring. And we have enough guys scoring for us right now that we don't have to rely on Marian all the time.

Nope. He waited way to long to allow Gerber a chance to get his stick on the puck. That was as gimme a goal as could be in the playoffs.

Regardless of how stud he's been on the backcheck why did we all get excited he came here? #1 Priority is..... yes.

I am happy that in all other aspects he's been playing well, except the occasionaly goofup on PP. That puck in the crease is a def sign someone needs to light a fire under him. Ohhhh buddy, can't wait. He's just too good to be snakebitten this long. Here's to hoping he lights the lamps multiple times the next two games where we need him most.
