If this contest isn't rushed through before the election its the only sure way to save the Pens.
Why? Is he going to be able to boot Rendellphia's cronies off of the gaming board? No. That is set in stone, therefore the election really has no relavence in whether the Pens stay or not. I don't think Swann would be in office when the licenses are awarded, anyway. On top of that, the new ownership would only be tied to the IOC plan, not a Plan B. Swann may push harder for Plan B, but I think the Pens are gone if IOC doesn't get the license. It seems the investment group can make more money if they sell to an out of town buyer at this point. Why people expect the Lemieux group to take less money in the transaction baffles me. They have tried and tried to get something done with the city and state. Nothing has happened. I hope they stay, but I am seriously doubting it at this point.
