THN draft preview is out

Postby Draftnik on Sat May 13, 2006 1:17 pm

Johnson
Kessel
Toews
Staal
Backstrom
Mueller
Brassard

They totally disrespect my 2 choices for the Pens 2nd & 3rd round picks. They have Claude Giroux at #60 and Rhett Rakhshani didn't even crack their top 100.

I liked what I saw from Rakhshani the few times I've watched him play.

Interesting. I've seen Giroux in the first round in a lot of mocks and lists. I like him too.

Don't worry, the worse sign for your choice would be if the Pens would actually draft Giroux in the 2nd. Oh wait, that was the CP era!!! Maybe it will change.

They listed each team's top 5 prospects. Starkey listed ours as

Malkin
Welch
Stone
Carcillo
Eaves

The last two are a little iffy, I like Carcillo but that isn't the best we've got. I'd think Lannon, Filewich, Letang, and Goligoski are above them, not to mention the guys who are probably considered "graduated" (Army, Ouellet, EC)
On a side note, I'd like to see the Pens draft Nick Foligno, as I took a hockey camp with him a few years ago. He has some good bloodlines too
