Crosby not healthy enough for "A bout de souffle tourna

Postby Sylvain on Mon Jul 21, 2008 7:04 pm

It's the first time in three years that Sid will not participate in the "A bout de souffle Tournament" in Magog. Sid didn't skate since the end of the Stanley Cup playoffs and he's not healthy enough to participe this year in the tournament organized by Yanic Perreault. The last two years, he won the scoring title and the championship with Jack Johnson, Yanic Perreault, Patrice Bergeron, Daniel Corso and Mathieu Garon. This year, Nathan Gerbe (a Sabres prospect) will replace him with Perreault's team. It's unfortunate for the fans in Quebec but it's the best thing to do for Sid. He told some reporters that he'd really want to be in Magog again this year but it's better for him to sit another month before skating. So, i'll be there to watch Dupuis, Fleury, Talbot and Sabourin.

I'm guessing he is healthy but just wants to wait till he has to start training hard to do anything on his ankle.

ding ding ding

The high ankle sprain need a LONG time to heal and Sid is, of course, fully committed to the Penguins and wants to take the full offseason to heal.

He's getting a little too injury-prone for my liking...I say we give the Canadiens their wish and trade him there...we could probably get Higgins AND Komisarek if we play our cards right...

God help the NHL when Sid does start skating. You know he's sitting in his basement right now, staring at his skates with the DVD of Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final on in the background. He's holding his stick next to a pile of pucks, and every so often, like clockwork, the NBC broadcast is drowned out by a louder noise.

Bingo
Exactly right. From the Pens perspective this is the most prudent thing to do.

I'm guess he is not getting enough sleep, staying up all day long pretending to be a fan and posting on all the forums about how he is going to boo Hossa when he returns.

I am still devasted by that unfortunate event. It will likely take another 17 days to fully recover.

No, Montreal has to drown in Tanguay after losing out on Hossa.

Hopefully the opening to his dryer is on the ground, otherwise he is denting the crap out of the bottom of his dryer.

Can someone please enlighten me? What is the "A bout de souffle Tournament" in Magog????? I have no idea what tournament you're even talking about here. Also, I've never heard of "Magog" - where is it? Thanks.

IIRC, it is a mini tournament that a lot of NHL players participate in. I believe Sylvain was there last year and posted some pics.
