Mark Moore, former penguin from 2002? 6'4" ?? no recollection of him.

He had an interesting opinion that it is the speed of the defense
that wins cup finals, not size of defense.

Speed is very important, as long as the guys with speed are big. I don't see any advantage in having really fast little guys playing defense.

You don't recall him because he really never got to play. :(

Mark Moore (2003)
A draft choice of the Pittsburgh Penguins, the older brother of Steve Moore never got a chance to play in an NHL game because his career was ended by a severe concussion.

I don't believe he ever played an NHL game, although he was the 179th player taken in the 1997 Entry Draft. You would be more familiar no doubt with his two younger brothers. Steve and Dominic.

It says former pro hockey player in the Pens' organization. Something tells me he never made it to the NHL.

Thanks for the link.

Adam Deadmarsh, he was a penguin killer; looked to be off to HOF career.

The only reason I remember Mark was because I remember reading that Steves brother played for the penguins.

Couldn't agree more with this. But when you get the size/speed combination you have really hit the jackpot. Penguins defense has plenty of speed for the forseeable future, Letang, Whitney, Gonchar, Orpik, and Goligoski are all great skaters.
