PENSBLOG = STUNNED!

Postby icecats30 on Fri Aug 01, 2008 11:03 am

the pensblog has been at least temporarily shutdown due to a terms and services violation.

My guess is that the handicapped kid in the michigan hat filed a complaint.

either that or charlie revolted.

this is gonna suck with no PB until the appeal goes through.

to the guys that run that site, if you read here ( i know you do)... STAY STRONG! EVERY MAN IS ENTITLED TO THE RIGHT OF JOBBING

Maybe this will lead to tpb getting their own site. It gets a ton of traffic, just think of the ad-revenue!

I'm still thinking it was a certain ESPN employee who's "conduct after a few drinks" was discussed a week or so ago.

That's probably more likely.

Simple solution to that: Don't do stupid things or be a [family board] in public.

That works. I would just think it would be hard to pass up free money. Especially considering if you host your own site it will cost money out of your pocket.

What happened and who was the guy? If it was reported as an eye-witness account then it is free speech.

Maybe one of the teams complained about them using their copyrighted logos, pictures, etc. Hmm?

Well technically, since TPB is in print, it would be libel.

First off, technically it is libel not slander, as slander refers to Oral communication. Secondly, if it is a picture taken in a public place of a public person, and it is factual (like a real picture not a photoshop), then it is not libel. Otherwise supermarket tabloids would not exist. Nor would the news.

with the link provided for the thread, go into the comment section. The person who made the claim to TPB not only used his name, but seemed to be rather descript with his response. Now I'm not saying that those are the only requirements for something to be true, but if this was some made-up story, wouldn't it be easier to not show face at the scene of the crime (especially on the internet) instead of hanging around to answer any questions?

Also, if it is a public figure, you could probably still get away with photoshopping it as that would be covered under Parody. See the Daily Show, SNL, et. al.

There was just a picture of Hradek drinking. He wasn't in the act of doing anything harmful, there's no visual evidence of that.
