1971 or 1972 vs Bruins. Bobby Orr, Derek Sanderson (aka the "Hairy Fairy" in the stands) and Espo. I was five or six. That's all I remember, but that was it.

preseason 1997, Pens vs Bruins. B's defenseman and Pittsburgh native Bob Beers ruins the game by scoring the game winner with about 5 seconds left.
I still have the scorecard from that game. Jagr and his permed mullet was on front. On the back had the lineup of both teams, and I can still remember that Jan Hrdina was wearing #49 in that game. On the bottom it has a note to "watch for the new Ice Time programs, coming soon"

in St. Louis, 1998. My best memory from that was when we first walked from the concourse into the seating area of the arena. It was during warmups, and when I came out and actually saw Francis, Jagr, etc. right in front of me, I could barely contain myself. Too cool.

My first was against the Oilers in Gretzky's first few years. I remember the buzz around 99 and that the Oil beat up the Pens really bad. Not sure but the Pens may have still been wearing blue. I was somewhere around 5 (I'm 35 now) so I'm not sure if those events and numbers jive. I remember being more excited about the concessions and Peter Puck.

Back in the mid to late 80's, vs. the blackhawks. Pens won 7-6 everyone got the free chili, and some fan threw a glass beer bottle and it hit the ice right between the refs legs.

I think I was around 4 and we sat next to Zamboni entrance where my Dad's work had season tickets. The ice crew gave my brothers and me practice pucks. I gave mine to my now 4 year old son.

I lived in Philadelphia, so the first Pens game I saw was at the Spectrum against the hated Flyers in 1988. Pens lost 4-3 after leading 2-0 in the first ten minutes or so. Huge brawl in the second period delayed the game about twenty minutes and Mario scored on a breakaway with about thirty seconds left to close the gap to one. I also vaguely remember Dan Quinn scoring into an empty net after Hextall wandered off into no man's land while chasing a dump in.

May 2, 1993 -- Almost 8 yrs old
Round 2, Game 1: Pens vs. Isles
I've ruthlessly hated the Isles since that series...

I want to say it was a Pens-Devils game, I have a picture of Iceberg holding me up at center ice.

I was rocketing the mullet back then B).
You were three. It was 1995.

Now how would I know that?

It was a Saturday night in the fall of 1974. The game was a 0-0 tie between the Pens and the Kings. Vachon was in goal for the Kings.
The big deal in that game was the referee was injured and the game was delayed to deal with it. The game took 4 hours to play.

I beat all of you with the most recent. December 3, this past season v. the Coyotes. My first ever Pens game, and currently, the only one I've been to. I won the tickets on watch & win. Sad, yes, but my financial situation doesn't allow me to get to many. I'd have to buy the tickets, and gas up the car for the hour and a half drive.
But it was completely unforgettable for me... and a win!

I was at the first Pen's game ever. Rocket Richard scored 7 goals and Bobby Orr had 10 assists. There were ta least 3 bench clearing brawls.
I remember it like it was yesterday.

I saw the Hornets in their Calder Cup winning season in 1966-67, but then I didn't go to my first Pens game until 1972.

2000-2001 season
Dallas Stars @ Pens
Lost 8-2
Hull, Modano, Zubov, Lehtinen were lights out
Jan Hrdina scored a garbage goal and Jiri Slegr blasted a slapper from the point
Garth Snow = ice time

The first one I remember was against Montreal where they lost 1-0. From looking it up in the Game Database it was December 27, 1997, which makes sense since I know it was around Christmas.

1st game -- October 2, 1993 -- a preseason game at Hersheypark Arena against the Flyers in which I believe the Pens put 10 on the board. Only remember it because it was the same day as Penn State beating Maryland 70-7.
1st REAL game -- 1996 ECQ Game 3 at Washington...also known as the game BEFORE the 4 OT marathon. I'd have gone to the marathon game too if I had been able to get a ride from Baltimore, where I was in college at the time.
I've never been to the Igloo for a game but have seen them play in MSG, Jersey, and the Phone Booth. At some point, I'll go to a game in Tampa but not sure if I'll make it to the Igloo before its demise.
