The game 7 loss to the Flyers in the 88-89 playoffs. Hextall got hurt in game six and Ken Wregget came in and shut us down.

9-1 Devils win at the Igloo. I believe Madden had the trick. I think maybe Toby Petersen had the only Pens goal...

8-2 Loss to Dallas. Rozsival passed the puck to a wide open Brett Hull twice for 2 goals.

The Sharks game last season was pretty bad, though the zamboni exploding all over center ice provided some pre-game entertainment.

I'd also say pretty much any Sabres game I've ever been to, because their fans are the most obnoxious group of people on the planet. In the fifteen or so years I've been going to Pens games I have been to exactly ONE game vs. the Sabres where their fans haven't been getting drunk and picking fights, spilling their beer all over everyone, and generally acting like a-holes. Thank god they're having a hard time getting tickets these days.

Was that the night that the Pens debuted their 3rd jerseys? Forget the year, maybe 2000. It was a Sat. night. Two Devs had 4 goals each.

It would have to be a 8-3 (?) loss the the hurricanes back in 03 I think...Francis was the 1st star of the game, which was nice, but asides from that it was horrible. The game was lightly attended due to weather...probably only 8-9k in the seats.

3 friends and I took the trip to Detroit for Game 1 this SCF. I can't tell you how psyched I was for the week leading up to the game. The drive there was rocking with Best Pens Moment type talk. Got there to the Holiday Inn Express, went down stairs to the lounge met some Pens fans, Wings fans as well, a few adult beverages. Then to the Casino, listened to the House Band, more A.B.. Then to the Joe. I was in awe walking up the steps, into the barn, Molsen XXX 25 ouncers (deadly by the way), then came an excruciating 60 minutes, then came the barrage of friendly F.U.s from the Wings faithful. More A.B. in the lounge afterwards, and then a BRUTAL hang over filled drive home.

That was rough.

This year when the Pens played NJ for the first time. The refs sucked, and fans threw crap all over the ice. I never seen fans more made in my life.

3-0 Shutout by the hand of Shawn Horcoff and the Oilers, I believe this was the "soff" night.

Shortly before Christmas 2006, where the Pens played the St. Louis Blues at home and got romped 4-1.... late goal by Nils Ekman assisted by 87 and 71... but absolutely brutal loss to an absolutely brutal team

This was the first game that came to my mind as well. It wasn't only the penalty shot. I remember that game being very dull and the Toronto fans being very annoying (what else is new).

I recall an exhibition loss to a sucky Bruins team during the dark years.

The Edmonton game made famous by the MT "dis team is so SOFF" tounge lashing. I remember feeling exactly the way MT did. I was so happy he made the famous speach because finally we had a coach willing to call a spade a spade unlike Edzo who threw himself under the bus all the time.

This to me was the bottom for the pens horrible seasons. Since then the team has only gone up

For me it was the 9-0 "new jersey" New Jersey Game too. That was back when I was still in law school, and I got absolutely sweet Section B Student Rush tickets for the game. The loudest cheer of the night was for the "one minute" warning in the third period.

That was also right after the slots deal was announced. That was not a fun time to be a Pens fan.

Wow, was that really 2006?!?

May 17, 1999.

Game 6, OT loss vs. Toronto.

We walked out of the Igloo that night not knowing if that was the last Penguins game in Pittsburgh.

Eerie, empty feeling exiting the Igloo that night. Never attended another sporting event like it.

Yes, as I stated in the good thread, this is the worst for me. I forgot about it being the new third jersey night though. They gave them away.

Basically every Pens/Isles game I go to in Long Island...The pens ALWAYS lose to the Isles on the road, or at least every game I go to...Then throw in that ridiculous goal horn and a little bit of the Islander fans...I think I'll stay home more often... :D

My uncle and I were discussing that game a few months ago. He said he went and there were many fans that just stayed in their seat well after the game ended.

Game 1 of the 1st round series against the Caps in I think '96. They built a 3- or 4-goal lead or something like that but lost the game 6-4. They ended up winning the series, but that was a tough game to sit through.
