2008-2009 Pittsburgh Penguins Roundtable

Postby Va Beach Pens Fan on Mon Sep 01, 2008 11:21 pm

Hey Guys,
Normally I don't prefer to promote my blog on here, I'd rather just post as a fan, but I really think you guys will enjoy this roundtable we just completed. We've got a great group of Pens staffers, columnists and bloggers to contribute, they are:

Joe Sager - Penguins Director of Content/Publication
Seth Rorabaugh - Pittsburgh Post Gazette's Empty Netters
Matt Bodenschatz - Faceoff Factor
FrankD - Pensburgh
Chris Gates - Talkin' Hockey N'at
Hooks Orpik - The Sweater Ted
Chris Yarbrough - Taking One for the Team
Sean Leahy - Going Five Hole
Chris Wassel - The NHL Arena
Yours Truly

I had hoped the boys from Pensblog would join, but they don't read email as fast in the offseason... ;)

Anyway, hope you enjoy it, here's the link;

Nice! I will say that I'm actually rather surprised at how everyone seems to think Pesonen will make the team. I certainly agree (at least, I hope!), but I fully expected everyone to say that he didn't have much of a chance. Let's hope that game of his can hold up to NHL standards. I'd really like to see him in a Pens sweater this season.

There was a question about the Pens' toughness compared to last year:

Chris Wassel, the NHL Arena wrote:Now the Pens still have guys like Cooke, Gill, and Eaton who can bang. Eric Godard can fight, no question. And Orpik can hit with the best of them, but losing Whitney as well does hurt with some of the physicality and grit. They will be hard pressed to have that same forcefulness as last year.

Hmm, someone needs to watch the Pens a little more closely.

Whitney rearranged Redden's DNA. He's now Wendy Redden.

interesting stuff. nice questions. a few "huh?" moments, but overall a good read. though only 2 out of 10 people picking detroit to win it all is pretty friggin crazy.
