PP#1:

Staal-Crosby-Satan
Gonchar-Malkin

PP#2:

Fedotenko-Talbot-Sykora
Letang-Eaton (Sydor if he plays over Scuds but that remains to be seen).

#1 PP Sid, Malkin, Fedotenko
#2 PP Sykora, Staal, Satan (this could be #1 on many teams)

That is two balanced lines with someone who will play in front of the net and have snipers firing at them. I guess you can arugue to swap Staal and Fedotenko.

Now for the D pairs

#1 Whitney -- Gonchar
#2 Letang -- Gonchar

While Whitney is recovering move Letang up and use Sydor or Gogo if he is on the roster on the second PP

Sid and Geno shouldn't even be in the same building when the PP is on. "Balanced" would be splitting them; and I like what would ensue.

Last season, Malkin's line on the PP, sans-Sid, was an unstoppable force. I like unstoppable forces.

sykora was far too effective last year to replace with satan, imo.

though satan's style on the pp is extremely similar to hossa (good finisher, uses his body well, strong hands down low, quick finesse moves when in scoring position, etc.).

so i guess the question is do you want a pure sniper or do you want a more dynamic guy with a worse shot?

I think Sykora would fit in better on the 2nd unit as the guy who will dictate the flow. I think he's a better all around player than Satan and the #2 unit would be his PP with Fedo and Talbot crowding the crease for his rebounds on Sykora's wristers.
