Single Games Tickets Easy To Get?

Postby Billkamm on Sat Sep 20, 2008 11:02 am

When the Pirates single game tickets went on sale back in April the site would barely even load. There was so much traffic the site came to a crawl. This morning I had no problem getting Penguins tickets and the site ran real fast. Given that the Pirates suck and the Pens are good I was shocked by this. Is tickets.com that much slower than ticketmaster.com or was there really more demand for Pirates tickets? Maybe people just assumed they couldn't get Pens tickets and didn't try? Maybe it because the Pens have no stand out games (except maybe the Red Wings) and the Pirates had a 3 game series with the Yankees?

I don't know, but I'm glad I could easily get tickets for the Pens either way. I wasn't too heartbroken that I missed out on some Pirates tickets that I wanted.

I don't think you could even get single game tickets for that Yankees series anyway so I don't think that had anything to do with it.

There are games better than others, but there are no like Winter Classic games or anything on that level.

I think any game against your own division is a stand out game. Particularly, when you play the Flyers.

I think what he meant was games that would pull in a lot of out of towners for one particular game instead of out of towners dispersed over multiple games

Did anyone have problems finding tickets in groups of two? I realize the site said most single game seats would be packaged as three-seat deals. Just wondering.
