This isn't 2003, the team is too good to have people given anything, they have to earn their way onto the team.

Weak. There is a highlights video on the official site which shows every goal... except Geno's.

That does suck, it was a pretty nice play, the defender fell over, he passed it about ten feet to Sykora on the goalie's right who then returned it for a wide open net. Just in case you didn't hear how it was scored.

Geno's goal? wasnt it Staal?

Yeah, you're right, I don't know why I thought it was Sykora for a second. The rest of the post is accurate though.

I just say let him skate with them once and see what happens. I don't know if pez will complement the rest of the line in the same way. Dupuis adds some grit and some hard forechecking, but the man can't finnish. I think Crosby needs more than one winger who can put the puck in the net. If pez can't work the boards hard enough though, then he isn't going to fit.

I thought Evgeni did a fine job at the point with the PP minutes in the 1st period last night. He looked confident and in control. Every point player turns over pucks, it happens. Evgeni has the speed to catch up
with most players.
I thought Alex Gogligoski made some sound defensive play and even was threw a couple checks.
Liked Fedotenko's play in a game versus trying to judge in a practice. Missed Sid & Sergei.

M Grabovski looks to be a good player for the leafs. J Pogge, struggle early, but ended strong.

Hardly any leaf fans there last evening to "discuss" hockey.

I got a good laugh out of the guy who was sitting about 10 rows ahead of me. He had a Jiri Tlusty jersey on. And midway through the game someone screamed at the guy saying, "Hey, you know you have the jersey of a player who revealed himself in public!! And the guy stood up looked back and he tried to say something, but he couldn't, and he sat back down.

Good stuff.

malkin on the point is good and bad. the bad side is like tonight he almost got beat on the powerplay. he isnt very defensive minded and isnt the fastest skater. he almost lost the puck and the one leafs penalty kill guys almost got by him for a breakaway. but having his vision and slapper from the point is gewd.

I was at the game and didnt see cooke involved much. did he get much ice time?

satan will fit in awesome.

fedotenkozone looked a little weak on the puck but hes got the skillz.

Staal looked more strong handeling the puck. good to see. did he grow in the last 3 months? geez.

Dupuis i just dont know about. seems like he is one step behind or maybe he is to fast and 1 step ahead. hopefully he can get on the right page with Crosby.

kennedy is going to be better this year. hopefully.

I agree. For the money we spent on him, plus a little more, we could have gotten a much better option in free agency.

Who?

I'm not sure, I didn't really think it through. But you have to think there was somebody. I mean Dupuis averages like 10 goals per year for his career, he's clearly not a top 6 guy, so I have to think there was somebody.

funny sports update they ran last night at the game~ Brendan Shanahan refuses to report to the NYR on an open contract option. Shanahan is still out there, just don't know if he can score enough on the pens.
For the rangers, that was a bit of an insult to present to Shanahan.

I may be in the minority here, and that's okay, but I was at the game, and honestly, Gogo didn't really impress me. Maybe it was just the one time, when the Leafs were entering the zone, and he backed up until he ran out of ice. It bugged me. I liked his work on the PP, so I can give him that.

Tangers was definitely on tonight.

I think Fedotenko just took over Malone's place in my heart. He's a workhorse out there, and I love it. Related to that, Max and Tank are two peas in a pod.

TK was, as usual, all over the ice.

The Staal/Geno/Sykora line is pretty sick, and I thoroughly enjoyed Geno showing off after he drew the penalty.

So you're telling me NOT to by a WBS Smith jersey?
