Yeah i'm not real worried about the 4th line. In fact I will never worry about the 4th line.

Bissonnette-Kennedy-Godard should be our 4th line.

maybe. but even though 2 games doesn't prove anything, it's hard to ignore what kennedy did this weekend. and even when he didn't score in the finals, he was making more of an impact than most of our forwards.

personally, i think you should give taffe another shot (his penalty was 2 parts bad ice, 1 part bad position) and put dupuis and godard on his wings for now. kennedy is at least a 3rd liner imo

Don't touch the top 2 lines, just plug Syko where he belongs.

Cooke-Talbot-Kennedy
Biz Nasty - Taffe - Dupuis

I'm partial to add Billy Thomas in there eventually. I like his skill set for the bottom 2 lines.

Pens should just go out and get a real 4th line center already...The team has needed a gritty faceoff specialist the entire Shero tenure...

He may not be gritty. But Smolinski is still on the open market...He is righty and accepts his role these days...

Cough cough, Dominic Moore is playing well with the Leafs...

Jim Dowd just got cut from the Flyers.

Adam Hall at $600,000/year isn't looking too bad either...3 years is a bit much, I agreed with Shero at the time, so I can't complain...

Chad Kilger could be had for a song. He isn't even playing in Florida, I don't think...

Smolinski, Kennedy, Godard = solid 4th line.

I was amazed that the pens didn't match 1.8/3 for Hall. Who cares if its longer than Shero wants to give out, its a great deal for a guy that can hold his own in the circle and eat up a ton of pk minutes. At the same time, Kennedy is fine for that line, coming after a PP, he can play with a top line, is a good option as an extra attacker, and is just generally nice to have in the lineup.

a) hall sucked 95% of last year
b) 4th lines aren't that important
c) we have enough 4th liners
d) wait till we're healthy

The oversight was entirely intentional. Satan is a dog who has no business collecting an NHL salary.

Oh come on. That is so nonsensical. You are seriously going to sit there and judge him after just two games??? Once again, let's wait a few more games before jumping to conclusions. It's not exactly the easiest situation coming over to a new team and being inserted into the first line to play alongside one of the best players in the world. It's a process that takes time and requires patiency from Penguins fans.

There is precedent for MCM not to like Satan. First, he's the master of lies... On a serious note, he's never amounted to a whole lot, has a reputation of only a few seasons of good goal scoring, and he looked uninspired this weekend.

Should he deserve more of a shot? It's subjective, but I believe so. If he continues to stink it up, I'd love to see Peso with Crosby.

Not to question everything after 2 games...But is anyone concerned that Max Talbot is a much more creative, and offensive threat then Jordan Staal is?

If Staal does not have a solid year (25+ goals), physical play....I would not be so inclined to lock him up long term, unless you get him on the cheaper side...which won't happen...

This team needs a goal scoring winger in the system the worst way...hopefully Staal develops into that...I have (had) my doubts...

I am judging him by his entire career. Yeah, he'll score a few goals here and there, but contributes nothing else at all. He is woeful defensively. He'll probably register about one hit all year when somebody accidentally skates into him. We should be able to count the number of times he goes into dirty areas on one hand, maybe one finger. And that is why I call him a dog.

I see people are bringing up Tarnstrom as a possible reinforcement for the PP. Dicky T actually does have a job right now, playing for AIK of the swedish allsvenskan (second highest league). So that's probably a long shot from happening, even if Pens management wanted to.
